# What is the penalty for DUI manslaughter in Rhode Island?

Under R.I. Gen. Laws § 31-27-2.2, DUI manslaughter is a felony with minimum imprisonment of 5 years and maximum of 15 years for a first violation, or 10 to 20 years for a second or subsequent violation within five years. BAC level does not change the range. Fines are $5,000 to $10,000 for a first violation and $10,000 to $20,000 for a repeat violation. License revocation is 5 years. The statute does not provide for vehicle forfeiture.
